Why an Okage Shadow King Site?
Well first off, I doubt many of your friends know about this game... Thus, a reason to make this site. The game is so under-rated it's really quite sad. Though there are some reasons why I can see why, but people should get past those reasons dammit! :) Though the gameplay is quite easy, which isn't really fun for advanced RPGers (ahem), and the annoyingly large amount of fights you get into can really piss a person off. But I think the game makes up for it in its totally orginal storyline and really wacky characters. How many games practically put you in evils point of view? Not many. How many games have you fighting evil for the behalf of evil? Probably none. Now maybe I'm a little crazy for evil, but it's good to see that there is somebody out there brave enough to make a game different from everything else... But of course that leads it into being unnoticed (another one of my favortie under-raties being Valkyrie Profile).
I haven't a clue where I'm going with this, but Okage has something for everybody... If you weren't in it for the battles, be there for the story. Be there for the characters. The game is hella amusing, and if you read close enough, you might even find translation grammar mix ups... Always good for a laugh or two. :)
